Archaeological Institute of America
announces
THE DAVID CHAPMAN BOOK AWARD
for undergraduate students
who have chosen to pursue the study of archaeology
This award will be granted annually to the student who submits the most compelling 1,000 word essay
that addresses the questions that we believe were central to our founding president’s lifelong association with archaeology:
“How did you become interested in archaeology and
how would you incorporate archaeology into your community?”
The awardee will receive a recent publication on some topic in world archaeology and
a free one year membership to the Central Florida Society of the Archaeological Institute of America including Archaeology Magazine.
It is our sincere hope that this award will serve as a career enhancing honor for its recipients and inspire those who, like David Chapman, are dedicated to the study of archaeology and our human cultural heritage.
Interested students should submit their essays
along with a copy of their current student identification to:
